Kind Words about the E-Books
As a lifelong fan of Girlschool from the early days to the present day, I was really looking forward to reading this as Kelly is one of my favourite guitarists.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading it - Kelly's entries are both funny and poignant. She dealt with her life in the band and her illness with a brave face that only her closest friends were able to share until now.
The extra entries from her friends and family show the wonderful person Kelly was as everyone has such fond memories of her.
We fans of Girlschool still miss her but this book gives an insight into who she was and I feel privileged to be able to share this.
R.I.P. Kelly Johnson - forever rockin' the Heavens. You will never be forgotten.
Downloaded the book a couple of months ago - it's a short but very powerful read and must have taken a lot out of Kelly to write and record her life story - warts n all. Great anecdotes from friends etc.
It's a great book - love all of the stories I also got the companion book of photos some great pictures of Kelly in both books wish it would come out in a printed form though.
It's a great read, I read it again today... Her way with words is amazing and very inspiring. Shitloads of funny stuff and other stuff that makes you think... I'm looking forward to some extensions if it's still planned. Thank you, Dee and all for putting this out!
Last week, I read Kelly's memoir. Now, did I enjoy every bloody page of it....you bet your ass, you damn right, you best believe I love it. First book I ever enjoyed with laughs and awes and didn't skip a day from reading it. Guess what? On my free time....I'm gonna read it again! I'm always gonna remember that quote that the late awesome Kelly Johnson said: What Doesn't Fuck You Up Makes You Stronger. I'm always gonna remember that when downfalls come. They're gonna come, they're not gonna fuck me up. She'll always be one of my favorite guitarists, not that I ever had a favorite, but she's the 1st on my list!
Buy the book ``Surviving My Friends``! It's an excellent book about Kelly (and the band). I'm reading it a second time now.
Reading your words showed me how much of an amazing human being you were, besides a fantastic guitar player.
I cried when I read ``Surviving My Friends`` for the first time. It was the only time I cried in the last few years.
I got the book about a week ago and I cried looking at the pictures of her.
It's a great read! Well done Dee!
I ADORE that book. I play guitar because of Kelly Johnson.
I'm really interested in learning more, my connection with Girlschool is something I've never felt has gone away, since 1980 and my first copy of Demolition, when I was 14.
I love this book and I love Kelly Johnson!
My favourite book. Absolutely brilliant.
Would recommend this ebook to everybody... but do not read when hungover. It's a rollercoaster!
